Lever Pit Gauges

Tri-Gauge and Jr. Tri-Gauge pocket gauges for pit depth, weld undercut and weld crown height.

Lever Pit Gauges
Overview

The lever pit gauge was patented in 1935 as a pipe pit gauge, and its design was unchanged until Western introduced the Tri-Gauge in 2004. The Tri-Gauge carries metric and dual imperial scales and doubles as a basic weld inspection gauge for undercut depth, weld crown height and porosity diameter, with metric and imperial rules along its edges. It is fitted with Western's patented pointer offset correction for better accuracy and repeatability.

The Jr. Tri-Gauge, introduced in 2012, is Western's most accurate lever pit gauge, with contact point offset correction, metric and dual imperial scales and the same weld functions for undercut depth and crown height. Lever pit gauges are intended to evaluate corrosion and erosion rather than as absolute measuring tools; where a precise depth is needed, Western's dial-indicator pit gauges are the more accurate choice.
