OPTEX FA has made built-in-amplifier photoelectric sensors since 1986. The current range spans industry-standard sizes (Z4, Z3, Z2 and BGS-Z series), small and miniature sensors (BGS-S, S and E series), M18 cylindrical sensors (C-R, C2 and BGS-C), stainless-steel housings for washdown areas (Z-M and BGS-ZM), resin-filled J series sensors and universal-voltage V series sensors.
The flagship Z4 series supports IO-Link, so received-light level and output status can be read by the PLC and sensitivity, output mode and timers set over the network. Its through-beam types reach 25 m, the longest in their class, and it tolerates around five times more ambient light than earlier models — up to 50,000 lx of sunlight. Background-suppression (BGS) models ignore what lies behind the target, and coaxial retro-reflective ZR-X sensors detect transparent objects.
