Ultrasonic Velocity Gauges
The QSV Series measures sound velocity to identify grey and nodular cast iron and their degree of nodularity.

The QSV Series measures the ultrasonic velocity in a part to determine whether cast iron is grey or nodular and its percentage of nodularity, and to distinguish between materials. The part thickness is needed for the calculation and can be entered manually or read directly from a digital caliper.
The gauge measures thicknesses from 1 to 500 mm and velocities from 100 to 19,999 m/s, with 0.01 mm resolution, one-step automatic calibration, alarms and 5,000-reading memory. DMQ interface cables connect InSize and Mitutoyo digital calipers, and 2 MHz and 5 MHz transducers suit attenuating or general-purpose materials.
- Velocity range 100 to 19,999 m/s
- Thickness range 1 to 500 mm, 0.01 mm resolution
- Digital caliper input (InSize and Mitutoyo)
- One-step automatic calibration
- Memory for 5,000 readings with USB transfer
- Nodularity checks in foundries
- Grey versus nodular cast iron sorting
- Material identification
