Norwolf Tool Works was founded in 1995 with a flat torque multiplier that had not existed before — the Missing Link, now a standard tool at most wind sites worldwide. The company went on to build the X-Driver hydraulic torque wrench system, which became the most widely used hydraulic wrench in the major US shale oil regions of North Dakota and South Texas.

The X-Driver is a single powerhead that locks into three interchangeable drives — the A-DRIVE hex cassette, the M-DRIVE hyper-low-profile link and the V-DRIVE square drive — without pins or screws. The range is completed by X-Bot and T-Con hydraulic bolt tensioners, the Calibore bolt tension calibrator, hydraulic pumps, and custom sockets, drives and reaction arms for bolting jobs that standard tools cannot reach.
