Position Sensors
Inductive, capacitive and ultrasonic efector sensors for non-contact detection of metal parts, materials and levels.
Inductive sensors are ifm's core product: they detect metal targets without contact and are used on almost every machine for end-position, presence and speed detection. The range covers cylindrical and rectangular housings, full-metal, long-range, ring and slot sensors, versions for hygienic areas, welding, hazardous areas and temperatures up to 180 °C, and IO-Link models. The IFS204, for example, is a short M12 × 1 PNP sensor with a 4 mm sensing range, gold-plated contacts and a 10–30 V DC supply.
Capacitive sensors such as the KI6000 and KG6000 detect non-metallic materials and can sense liquids and bulk solids through non-metallic vessel walls, with versions for the plastics industry, hazardous areas and medium temperatures up to 250 °C. Ultrasonic, valve and radar sensors complete the position-sensing range.
