Photoelectric & Fibre Optic Sensors
O-series photoelectric sensors, O1D and O5D time-of-flight distance sensors and OBF fibre-optic amplifiers.
ifm photoelectric sensors come in M18, M18 Cube and rectangular O4, O5, O6, O7, O8 and OJ housings, as diffuse reflection sensors with background suppression, retro-reflective and through-beam versions. Wet-area variants suit food processing, and others are designed for coolants and lubricants or hazardous areas.
For distance measurement, O1D and O5D sensors use time-of-flight measurement for long ranges — up to 75 m on some O1D models — with reliable background suppression, colour-independent detection and IO-Link output of the distance value. The O5D100 adds a display and pushbuttons for setting switch points. OBF fibre-optic amplifiers work with acrylic fibre optics as diffuse or through-beam sensors where space is tight.
