Groove diameter and width gauges, setting masters and GO/NO GO checks for API 6A BX, R and RX ring grooves.
A ring groove cut into the face of a flange works with a gasket to seal the joint, and API 6A mandates its inspection. For BX grooves the major diameter and width are specified; for R and RX grooves, the pitch diameter and width. Gagemaker's BX-1000 groove diameter gauge and BXG-1000 groove width gauge read to 0.0001", and also suit checking hole locations.
Precision-ground face groove and hole location setting masters set both the BX and BXG gauges, and extension rods increase the BX-1000's range from 13" to 37". For quick follow-up checks, dog-bone (paddle) gauges and groove width profiles provide GO/NO GO inspection of BX, R and RX grooves.
