Crest Diameter & Ovality Gauges
MRP gauges that detect diameter and ovality variation on tapered tubing, casing and premium connections.
Gagemaker introduced the MRP crest diameter and ovality gauge some thirty years ago, and the MRP series is now used as an industry standard. A gauge shoe rests on the thread crests and any variation in diameter or ovality shows on the indicator, measuring the internal and external pitch diameter of tapered connections without a room full of ring and plug gauges.
The MRP-1000 covers 1"–4 1/2" tubing, the MRP-2000 2 3/8"–20" casing and tubing, the MRP-3000 8 5/8"–24" casing, and the MRP-1500/2500/3500 series premium connections from 1 1/2" to 24". The MRP AIR is a carbon-fibre version. Gauges are preset with rod-style or frame-style setting standards.
