Infrared detectors measure hydrocarbon gas by its absorption of light, so they are fail-safe, cannot be poisoned and keep working in atmospheres with no oxygen. IRmax is a compact, rugged detector for methane, butane, propane and other hydrocarbon gases and vapours. Its Stay-ClIR optics are coated to prevent condensation faults rather than heated, so it draws only 1 W, and a remote display can be mounted up to 30 m away for calibration without direct access to the detector.
IR Plus uses dual infrared waveband technology with intelligent heated optics and hydrophobic reflectors that shed dust, moisture and corrosive contaminants. It responds in 4 seconds, stays stable in high temperatures and 100% RH condensing conditions, carries a 5-year warranty, and offers 4-20 mA, RS-485 Modbus and HART outputs for connection to existing safety systems.
