The Xgard range is Crowcon's family of fixed point detectors for flammable gas, toxic gas and oxygen, available in flameproof, intrinsically safe and safe-area versions and built for wall or ceiling mounting with simple sensor replacement. Xgard Bright adds an OLED display, analogue 4-20 mA and RS-485 Modbus signals with alarm and fault relays as standard, and an MPS sensor option that cannot be poisoned.
XgardIQ is the intelligent detector and transmitter of the range. It is SIL2 certified, accepts Crowcon's full range of sensor technologies on a universal transmitter, and is calibrated non-intrusively so no hot-work permit is needed; a remote sensor option puts the sensing head where the gas is while the display stays within reach. From Sensitron, the SMART 3G detectors cover more than 50 flammable, toxic and refrigerant gases for Zone 1 and Zone 2 areas, and the SIL2 SMART S-MS serves refining and petrochemical duty, with a Lloyd's Register certified version for marine use.
